Thousands of people in Pakistan have been forced from their homes
More than tens of thousands of people in Pakistan have been forced from their homes in the past 24 hours as floods swept downriver. Many of those affected are living in camps set up on higher ground. The disaster has been compounded by a heatwave and low water levels in reservoirs.
More than 10,000 people were forced to flee their homes in northern Pakistan on Saturday after a river destroyed a bridge.
The floods have caused devastation across the country, with powerful flash floods in the northern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa causing the Kabul River to swell and sweep away a bridge overnight.
Around 180,000 people have been affected by the floods in the district of Charsadda, with some spending the night on highways with their livestock.
