Now You Edit Your Tweet In Twitter, But You Have To Pay For That
Twitter’s long-awaited edit button is finally here… but there’s a catch. The feature isn’t free to use. In order to access it, users will need to pay a small fee.
This news may come as a disappointment to many, who have been waiting for the edit button to be rolled out for years. But it’s important to remember that Twitter is a business and needs to make money somehow!
Twitter has finally broken its silence on its long-rumoured and highly anticipated edit tweet feature. The micro-blogging platform has confirmed testing an edit button that would allow users to edit their tweets for up to 30 minutes.
Twitter on its blog post has said that the “Edit tweet” feature is currently being tested internally by a smaller group and will be initially expanded to Twitter Blue subscribers in the coming weeks. Twitter Blue is a paid subscription offered by the company.
The Edited Tweets will appear with an icon, timestamp, and label so that the reader knows the Tweet has been edited. One can see the Tweet’s Edit History by tapping on the label. “For context, the time limit and version history play an important role here. They help protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said.”
What do you think about Twitter’s new edit button? Will you be paying the fee to use it?
